Purpose of the job:
To provide an exceptional level of management to the JLL Client and Security team at Hardman Square ensuring that the visitor and tenant and experience is second to none. The Security Manager is responsible for all aspects of site security, which includes all common areas, service areas, customers, clients, contractors, and visitors. He / She is personally responsible for a team of around 6 Security Officers.
The Security Manager will answer directly to the site-based Client will assist directly with the day to day running of Hardman Square which includes ensuring the correct procedures are followed for contractors arriving on site and allow them to proceed with their work providing the appropriate Risk Assessments and Method Statements have been approved and signed off by the client. The Security Manager is also to deal directly with complaints and respond to them in an appropriate manner.
Responsible to: Regional Account Manager (Mitie)
External relationships: JLL Client, Visitors and Contractors
Internal relationships: Mitie Security Officers, Mitie Control Room, Resource Schedulers and Regional Account Director.
Job overview
Responsible for managing the Security team of a busy corporate office building in the Centre of Manchester, overseeing the operational effectiveness of the team. This includes understanding the many essential functions of the site which includes:
-All aspects of the corporate security including front of house, back of house, delivery and service yards, car parks.
-Hardman Square emergency, disaster, and evacuation procedures.
-Officer timekeeping and attendance.
-The health and safety of all Mitie Officers and the safety of all those who visit the site.
-Dealing with and accurately recording incidents that affect security operations
-The security and safety of the buildings and their contents.
-Providing a high standard of response to telephone and email enquiries.
-Leadership and direction to all Mitie personnel on duty to ensure all issues are dealt with correctly.
-The investigation of incidents concerning Mitie staff and reporting findings to Regional Account Manager.
-Leading by example to deliver a proactive customer and guest focussed team.
-Dealing with incidents first hand and directing the appropriate staff to these incidents.
-Responsible for all aspects of recruitment including job adverts, interviews, screening and on-boarding process.
-Liaising and supporting site maintenance and cleaning team where needed and supporting a one team ethos
Main Duties of the Role
-Check shift reports and DOB
-Ensure all incidents are dealt with appropriately, recorded accurately and disseminated to those that need to know in a timely manner.
-Overseeing the provision of staff members ensuring there is sufficient cover in areas such as Reception and Control Room.
-Be responsible for the Assignment Instructions, Emergency Manual and Risk Assessments ensuring they are kept up to date and fit for purpose.
-Maintain the standards of the building for access / egress and visitor regulation.
-Ensure standards of dress, safety and presentation are always maintained within the security team.
-Management of the control room and standards
-Ensure that all staff receives the required level of supervision.
-Ensure that all security staff are adhering to the Mitie assignment instructions as well as site specific standard operating procedures.
-Ensure all staff training is completed and up to date
-Completion and checking of accident and health and safety reports.
-Carrying out site checks and audits of first aid and fire safety equipment.
-Ensure Fire and other site logbooks are up to date
-Liaising with tenants and offer advice on security and safety matters.
-Management of contractors ensuring RAMs and health and safety documentation is valid
-Producing reports such as access control, CCTV reviews
-Assisting with site audits
-Provide annual leave cover for the JLL Client
-Any other reasonable request from management or JLL Client.
Skills & Knowledge
▪ Be an experienced Manager.
▪ Hold a valid SIA License and CCTV License
▪ Has the ability to contribute toward a team ethos
▪ Can work on own initiative.
▪ Able to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels within the organisation.
▪ A comprehensive working knowledge of all processes and procedures.
▪ Excellent oral communicator.
▪ Strong written skills for reports and incident recording/writing.
▪ Can solve problems and react effectively to site emergencies
▪ To be able make quick and confident decisions in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
▪ Experience in disaster/incident management
▪ Good knowledge of Microsoft applications and general IT skills
▪ To share knowledge and support team members, to make the best use of their capabilities.
