Do you have an interest in Paediatric Cardiology?
Southampton Children’s Hospital is looking for highly motivated, dedicated registered nurses to join our friendly, supportive nursing team on E1 Ocean Ward, a highly specialised regional paediatric cardiac ward.
E1 is a 16 bedded regional cardiac unit with 6 High Dependency Cardiac beds . The ward cares for children from birth to 18 as well as supporting their families/carers with a range of cardiac medical conditions and those requiring cardiac surgery.
E1 accepts tertiary referrals from across the Thames and Wessex network.
The ward have an excellent educational team and a full educational programme is available to develop your clinical experience with the opportunity to obtain specific cardiac skills to develop your career further.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
In this role you will:
• Provide a high standard of specialist individualised nursing care
• Communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team at UHS
• Maintain accurate records of observation, treatment and patient/family care
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Along with the relevant qualifications we are looking for you to demonstrate:
• Evidence of on-going professional development
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Awareness of evidence-based practice
• Mentorship experience
The flexibility to work the full range of shifts within a 24-hour shift pattern is essential and previous experience as a qualified nurse in a paediatric or neonatal environment is desired but not essential.
