Immediate Opportunities for Tutors with Rhondda Council
We are seeking dedicated and motivated Tutors to begin work immediately. Successful candidates will support Primary and Secondary pupils across Rhondda within environments committed to delivering exemplary education and opportunities for all learners. The Local Authority is devoted to fostering an inclusive, dynamic community while equipping students with the essential skills to progress confidently in their academic and career journeys.
About the Role
This is a superb opportunity for enthusiastic, proactive Tutors passionate about inspiring learners and upholding high educational standards. Tutors will provide tailored support in core skills, study techniques, well-being, and pastoral care. Strong proficiency in Maths and Literacy is essential, as some pupils will be preparing for their GCSE examinations.
All tutoring sessions will be delivered on a one-to-one basis. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure adherence to robust processes within this personalised learning environment.
Key Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for this position
• Level 3 or coaching qualification related to education (desirable, but not essential)
• Experience in a learning support role, including skills development, pastoral and well-being support (desirable)
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, with proven experience managing challenging behaviours
• A clear commitment to learner support and well-being, adopting an inclusive, learner-centred approach
• Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with young people, parents, external organisations, and academic staff
