Contract: Long-term to permanent

About the Role
Long Term Futures is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school set in a village location in the LE12 area of Leicestershire. The school supports pupils aged 7-16, providing a calm, therapeutic and structured environment where strong relationships and consistency are central to pupil success.

Classes are small, with high levels of staff support, allowing pupils to rebuild trust, develop emotional regulation and re-engage with learning. As a Teaching Assistant, you'll support pupils across a broad and engaging curriculum, including Life Skills, PE, Art, Cooking and Forest School.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Support the delivery of structured, engaging lessons
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional development and resilience
- Help pupils develop social skills, independence and confidence
- Contribute to a safe, supportive and well-managed learning environment

What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children or young people, ideally within SEMH or SEN
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

Why Apply?
- Long-term role with a clear route to a permanent position
- Supportive staff team focused on positive outcomes for pupils
- Access to CPD and professional development
- Varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same
