Mechanical Project Manager - Cambridge

Salary: Up to £90,000 + Excellent Package
Location: Cambridge

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a major building services contractor delivering a large, high-profile commercial development in Cambridge.

This is a key project delivery role within a collaborative, integrated project environment, where construction and MEP teams work as one - built on trust, professionalism, and a "right first time" approach.

The Opportunity

You will take responsibility for the mechanical services delivery on a major commercial scheme, managing the project from pre-construction through installation, testing, and commissioning. The project is technically complex and high value, offering excellent exposure and long-term career progression.

You'll be supported by an experienced commercial, engineering, and site team within a business that genuinely believes in teamwork rather than confrontation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the mechanical services delivery across the project

  • Manage mechanical subcontractors and specialist suppliers

  • Oversee installation of HVAC, ventilation, pipework, plantrooms, and associated systems

  • Manage programme, quality, safety, and technical compliance

  • Coordinate with electrical, BMS, and construction teams to ensure seamless delivery

  • Attend client, consultant, and design team meetings

  • Manage testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems

What Makes This Role Different

People-Focused Business
Clear development plans, mentoring, and regular career progression reviews.

Ethical & Selective Projects
Works only with trusted clients and on well-run, properly funded developments.

Financially Secure
A strong, well-capitalised contractor with long-term workload.

Career Progression
Clear routes into Senior Project Manager and Project Director roles.

What You'll Need

  • Experience delivering mechanical packages on large commercial or mixed-use developments

  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, mechanical building services, and plant

  • Ability to manage subcontractors, programmes, and quality

  • A collaborative, professional approach

  • Ambition to progress and build a long-term career

Why Join?

This is a rare opportunity to join a business that combines major projects, strong financial backing, and a genuinely positive culture. You'll be trusted to deliver, supported to grow, and given the platform to build a long-term career.

Salary up to £90,000 + comprehensive benefits package
