Employability Mentor (Pathway Navigator)
Coventry, West Midlands
Who We Are
ACH is a social enterprise with a clear vision, dedicated to empowering refugees and migrants in the UK to lead self-sufficient and ambitious lives. We bring together a diverse team of strategists and researchers, driven by their own lived experiences, to provide tailored integration services.
Why We Do What We Do
Our mission goes beyond individual support; we actively challenge and disrupt the systems that perpetuate inequalities in our society. With a proven track record of delivering effective support services, in 2024, we helped house over 1,400 individuals and provided support to over 500 of our service users, helping them to achieve their personal goals and lead fulfilling lives in their new country.
We are now looking for an Employability Mentor to join us in Coventry on a full-time basis, for a one year fixed-term contract.
Our Commitment to You
- Competitive salary
- 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays
- Pension
- Flexible working
- Employee Recognition Programme
- Training and development opportunities
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Social gatherings and staff retreats
- A fully stocked staffroom!
If you are a compassionate and motivated individual with experience in mentoring and offering guidance, this is your chance to join our purpose-driven organisation and support refugees and migrants to gain better career futures.
You’ll experience the deep fulfilment that comes from seeing real progress unfold, building trusted relationships and knowing your guidance is directly helping people take control of their futures, integrate into their communities and achieve goals that once felt out of reach.
In return, you’ll be supported by an organisation that invests in people, offers flexibility, encouragement and a strong sense of team, alongside the space to grow your skills and feel genuinely valued for the difference you make every day.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Employability Mentor, you will support refugees and migrants to build confidence, develop skills and move into employment through personalised guidance and practical employability support.
Working directly with clients, you will deliver one-to-one mentoring and workshops focused on career planning, job search and training opportunities, helping individuals to identify their goals, strengths and next steps.
You will support clients to secure work or training, encourage resilience and motivation, and provide CEIAG and in-work support for up to three months after employment begins to help ensure sustained outcomes.
Additionally, you will:
- Support clients attending community events to aid integration
- Attend ESOL classes with clients and encourage English practice in real-life scenarios
- Complete enrolment sign-ups and associated administrative tasks
- Attend job fairs, ACH-led events and work with local partners to identify opportunities
What We’re Looking For
To be considered as an Employability Mentor, you will need:
- Experience offering mentoring, advice, and guidance to service users in a previous role
- Experience working with refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers
- Knowledge of Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) guidelines and framework
- The ability to work on CRM systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across different cultures and communities
- At least a Level 2 qualification in English Language
The closing date for this role is 5th February 2026.
Other organisations may call this role Employability Coach, Engagement and Employability Coach, Employability & Mentoring Coach, Employability Tutor, Employer Engagement Officer, or Employability Work Coach.
