We are seeking an experienced and motivated Outpatient Pharmacist to lead and deliver a high-quality pharmacy service for the brand-new Outpatient Pharmacy at Musgrove Park Hospital. You will ensure the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines in line with national and local guidelines, provide expert clinical advice, and manage the day-to-day operations of the outpatient pharmacy. This is a leadership role requiring strong clinical knowledge, organisational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The Outpatient Pharmacist at Musgrove Park Hospital plays a key leadership role in delivering a high-quality, patient-centred pharmacy service for outpatients. The position is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines in accordance with national and local guidelines, while providing expert clinical advice to healthcare professionals. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the outpatient pharmacy, supervising and developing pharmacy staff, and maintaining compliance with governance frameworks, legislation, and professional standards. We are looking for 40 - 42.5 hours full time pharmacist to lead this brand-new pharmacy. Part time will be considered. The pharmacist will act as the Responsible Pharmacist, oversee audits and quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to strategic planning and service development. Additional responsibilities include managing controlled drugs and unlicensed medicines, monitoring key performance indicators and financial data, and supporting medicines management initiatives to optimise prescribing practices. The post holder must maintain accurate records, uphold confidentiality, and ensure continuity of service during operational challenges. Candidates are required to hold full registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council and demonstrate strong clinical knowledge, leadership ability, and organisational skills. A commitment to continuous professional development is essential, and an independent prescribing qualification is desirable.
