I am enormously proud to have joined Manchester Royal Infirmary as the Interim Director of Nursing. I am now looking to build my senior nursing team and as such I am excited to recruit to this post, to join me and my existing team.
I am looking for an exceptional, inspirational, dynamic and highly experienced senior nurse whose role is key to support us consistently meet and exceed regulatory and statutory requirements, embedding robust clinical governance and fostering a culture where quality and safety are central.
You will have an in-depth expert knowledge in quality improvement, clinical/and or system transformation and assurance. You will be required to negotiate, problem solve, think strategically and be able to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
I am passionate about and committed to developing you to progress to a Director of Nursing/Chief Nurse position and as such I expect that to be your career aspiration. You will get the opportunity to shadow and represent me in all aspects of the organisation.
You will be supported within your role by the senior leadership team and personal and professional growth is encouraged. You will be encouraged and will lead across Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust on strategic projects within the nursing, midwifery and allied health professional's portfolios. A crucial part of your role will be leading assurance and compliance for Manchester Royal Infirmary Clinical Group. You will ensure our services consistently meet and exceed regulatory and statutory requirements, embedding robust clinical governance and fostering a culture where quality and safety are central.
You will also support education, lead Trust-wide projects, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver on programme objectives. If you are ready to bring expertise and vision to a team that values excellence, innovation, and compassionate care, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide professional and strategic leadership across a multi-professional workforce.
• Lead on quality, compliance, safety, and patient experience, embedding governance and assurance at all levels.
• Work collaboratively with senior medical, operational, and corporate colleagues.
• Act as a key decision-maker and trusted deputy to the Manchester Royal Infirmary Director of Nursing.
• Champion innovation, research, workforce development, and digital transformation.
Requirements:
• Experienced senior nurse
• Proven track record of delivering high standards of governance, safety, and service improvement.
• Demonstrated inclusive, compassionate leadership and ability to inspire high-performing teams.
• Ready to contribute to system-level priorities and shape the future of nursing, midwifery and AHP leadership within a leading NHS organisation.
