The Bristol Eye Hospital (BEH) at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston Foundation Trust (UHBW) is looking to grow its talented team to drive an ambitious future vision of care across Bristol and Weston.
Applications are warmly invited for a full time fixed term fellowship attached to the Glaucoma servicecommencing on 5th August, 2025
Candidates are expected to have extensive cataract surgical experience and be able to routinely perform phacoemulsification surgery unsupervised, as well as experience managing glaucoma cases. Applicants should be at Specialist Registrar/Trainee grade or equivalent and should have completed their higher surgical training in ophthalmology or be close to doing so. The successful candidates will be required to be registered with the General Medical Council with a License to Practice.
The BEH is a highly regarded Regional Centre for Ophthalmology which sits within the Division of Surgery at UHBW (recently rated Good by the CQC). BEH provides a tertiary referral glaucoma service. also be expected to participate in the workload of the department should the need arise. Glaucoma clinics are risk stratified and the Fellowship would provide opportunity to work in complex clinics with supervision and work with an experienced specialty optometry team. Theatre time is dedicated and will be supervised.
