The Obstetrics and Gynaecology department within University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the top London Hospitals for training. This is a busy but very friendly tertiary level unit dealing with a wide range of interesting conditions. Although the post is not recognised by the Royal College of Gynaecologist as training posts, they offer excellent educational opportunities and the successful applicant will be given the same educational opportunities.
The department is housed in a state of the art facility in the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson wing of UCLH.
The successful candidates will join the existing strong Obstetrics and Gynaecology medical team, with an international reputation in excellent care and research.
Successful applicants will benefit from the department’s extensive teaching programme and the excellent clinical experience it offers. We offer the same training and educational opportunities to all of our ST1/ST2s.
The successful candidate will be fully supported by a thriving and friendly department and will be encouraged to take forward academic development.
The ST1/ST2’s are responsible for the day-to-day care of Gynaecology and obstetrics patients. They attend some Gynaecology Out-patient and Theatre sessions and Ante-natal clinics. They are responsible for emergencies admitted through A&E at UCH. Whilst covering the Labour Ward, ST1/ST2’s are encouraged to perform a wide range of operative obstetric procedures whilst being supervised by a senior member of the unit.
All ST1/ST2’s are encouraged to participate in Audit and research programmes.
