Leigh Academy Mascalls is seeking a skilled and proactive Design and Technology Technician to join our team. This is an essential role where you will ensure our workshops and studios operate at a professional standard, providing the technical foundation for our students to succeed across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
As a DT Technician, you will be the heart of the department's practical delivery. From preparing timber and polymers for KS3 projects to supporting complex A-Level Product Design pieces, your expertise will ensure that every lesson is safe, organised, and inspiring. You will maintain specialist machinery - including 3D printers and laser cutters - manage stock, and ensure all environments meet high safety and CLEAPSS standards.
Within our welcoming community, you’ll work alongside teaching staff to provide technical guidance to students, helping them master manufacturing processes and high-quality finishes. If you are someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, professional workspace and enjoys supporting the learning journey of young people, we would love to hear from you.
