Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programmes for CNC machines, ensuring precise and efficient production of components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in fabrication, mechanical knowledge, and CAD/CAM software to contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes. The position is paid and suitable for applicants with relevant experience or training in the field.
Responsibilities
Develop, test, and optimise CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other relevant tools
Set up CNC machines, including milling and other machining equipment, ensuring proper tooling and materials handling
Interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate programmes aligned with project requirements
Adjust programmes as necessary to improve efficiency, accuracy, and quality of machined parts
Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues during operation
Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure production deadlines are met while maintaining safety standards
Utilise hand tools and welding equipment when required for assembly or modifications of components
Maintain detailed records of programme revisions, machine settings, and production data
Skills
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and CAM programming tools for CNC machining
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in fabrication, milling, tooling, and materials handling
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their integration within manufacturing processes
Ability to read technical drawings and technical documentation accurately
Basic maths skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings
Experience with welding, assembly, and the use of hand tools in a manufacturing environment
Warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding materials flow and inventory management
Knowledge of materials properties and selection for various fabrication projects
Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure programme accuracy and consistency
