Summary

Job Title: CNC Miller / Programmer - Heidenhain

Location: Manchester

Hours: 36 hours per week basic, 1.5x for the next 11 hours, double time thereafter

Rate: Up to £20.00 per hour (depending on skill level)

Start Date: Flexible

Job Description:
Our client, a precision engineering company specialising in high-spec components for aerospace and industrial applications, is looking for an experienced CNC Miller / Programmer with strong Heidenhain knowledge. This hands-on role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce components to exacting tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Programming and operating CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
• Machine setup including tooling, workholding, and offsets.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Conducting first-off inspections and quality checks.
• Troubleshooting machining issues and optimising programs for efficiency.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, machine cleanliness, and operation.


Technical Requirements:

• Proven experience with Heidenhain CNC milling machines.
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining strategies.
• Ability to perform accurate measurements using precision tools.
• Knowledge of tolerance requirements, surface finishes, and machining best practices.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
