Location: Birmingham - 2 days per week on-site (flexible)
Contract Length: 3 Months
Hays are partnering with a local council to recruit an Interim Project Planner. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced, collaborative team where you'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a regular cadence for updating the IRP, Business Plan and Operational Delivery Plan.
- Lead regular sessions with Delivery Leads to review, update and maintain all plans and reports.
- Produce consistent and accurate reporting to track milestones, ensuring alignment with all key plans.
- Establish processes and reporting ensuring risks, issues and dependencies are clearly understood and regularly updated.
- Ensure all plans are aligned and maintained efficiently, including FTOM and detailed delivery plans.
- Design and implement a robust change control process to ensure all changes are fully impact‑assessed and approved.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in programme or project planning across multiple projects/workstreams.
- Strong understanding of risk, issue and dependency management.
- Confident stakeholder management skills, particularly with project delivery or workstream leads.
- Ability to interpret project plans and challenge delivery assumptions where needed.
- Proficiency with project management/planning tools (e.g., MS Project).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to create clear, concise reporting for senior stakeholders.
