Summary
We are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join the team at a specialist SEND Primary School in Didsbury. You will be supporting pupils with a range of complex learning needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties. This is a full-time, temporary role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You'll be working closely with class teachers and the wider support team to deliver tailored interventions, facilitate inclusive learning, and help pupils achieve their individual goals. The role is to start ASAP.
This specialist setting is a well-established and highly respected school located in South Manchester. It caters for children aged 3-11 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The school is known for its inclusive ethos, innovative curriculum, and multidisciplinary approach to supporting pupils. Staff work collaboratively with therapists, medical professionals, and families to ensure every child receives a personalised education in a nurturing environment. The school has excellent facilities, including sensory rooms, therapy spaces, and outdoor learning areas.
Key Skills/Experience
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally in a school or care setting
- Any relevant qualifications would be beneficial
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils with complex needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Hays
