Graduate Learning Support Assistant (SEN) | The Role
As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional academic and emotional support. The school supports children with needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Providing tailored 1:1 and small group interventions
• Supporting the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies
• Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress
• Promoting confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
• Helping to maintain a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• This position offers excellent insight into high-quality SEN provision and is particularly beneficial for graduates planning further study or teacher training.
About You:
• A 2:1 degree or above in any subject (Psychology, Education, Early Childhood or related disciplines are advantageous but not essential)
• A genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs
• Patient, compassionate, and resilient in your approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Experience working with children or young people is desirable, though not required
• Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for graduates seeking their first school-based role.
