A well‑established manufacturing business with operations across production, supply chain, and distribution is looking to strengthen its finance function with the addition of a Management Accountant. The organisation operates in a fast‑paced, cost‑focused environment where accurate reporting and commercial insight are critical to operational decision‑making.The business offers a stable working environment with clear processes, strong operational teams, and a focus on continuous improvement.Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager / Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the monthly management accounts and provide financial insight to support manufacturing and operational performance.Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis
- Cost accounting across production, including standard costing and variance reporting
- Analysis of manufacturing overheads, labour and material costs
- Stock valuation, WIP reporting and reconciliation
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Cashflow forecasting and cost control
- Partnering with production, supply chain and operational managers
- Supporting year‑end processes, audits and statutory reporting
- Identifying process improvements and efficiencies within the finance function
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone comfortable working close to operations and providing commercial support to non‑finance stakeholders.What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant role
- Exposure to a manufacturing or production‑led environment
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, stock and variance analysis
- Good Excel skills and experience working with ERP / manufacturing systems
- Part‑qualified, qualified, or qualified‑by‑experience accountants considered
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with operational teams
- A proactive, detail‑driven approach with strong commercial awareness
