Your new role
Our client is recruiting for a Reception Team Leader with proven experience managing reception or front‑of‑house teams within large, multi‑stakeholder or high‑security environments. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of all reception and access control services, ensuring consistent service excellence, compliance, and smooth daily operations across a complex site.
- Lead, manage, and support a multi‑disciplinary reception team, ensuring high standards of professionalism, customer service, and operational effectiveness.
- Act as the primary point of contact for visitors, contractors, and personnel entering the facility, ensuring a professional and efficient Front of House experience.
- Oversee and execute access control operations, ensuring safe custody of passes and adherence to all security protocols.
- Work collaboratively with security teams, Building Management, Health & Safety Coordinators, and wider support staff to ensure seamless building operations.
- Promote and embed a strong Health, Safety, and compliance culture, ensuring all activities meet MOD, legal, and organisational requirements.
- Manage staff rotas, provide support during absences, and ensure adequate coverage for reception and related building management tasks.
- Carry out additional reasonable tasks as required to support operational continuity.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need proven management or supervisory experience within a reception, front‑of‑house, security, or complex facilities environment. You'll also have experience working in large, multi‑building or high‑security sites, ideally with multiple stakeholder groups with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a dynamic operational setting.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong multi‑tasking capability and the ability to operate effectively under pressure.
- Excellent customer-facing skills and the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond quickly to changing site needs or priorities.
- Proficient in workplace IT systems relevant to reception, access control, and reporting.
- GCSE-level Maths and English (or equivalent).
