Are you a hands‑on problem solver with experience in general building maintenance? Do you enjoy working independently, travelling between sites, and making sure environments are safe and well‑maintained? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.
We’re looking for a Maintenance Operative to join our Property & Facilities team, supporting multiple services across the region. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our buildings are safe, compliant, and comfortable for the people we support.
What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks
(including plumbing, joinery, decoration, minor electrical work and general repairs) - Completing fire safety, legionella and compliance checks to ensure our services meet legal standards
- Providing excellent customer service to Service and Operations Managers across the region
- Using our CAFM system to log, update and complete maintenance tasks
- Managing your workload independently and ensuring work is completed within agreed SLAs
- Ensuring van stock, materials and equipment are well‑managed and cost‑effective
- Travelling between services, with occasional overnight stays where required
What we’re looking for
- Experience working as a Maintenance Operative/Handyperson, ideally in a multi‑site role
- General multi‑trade skills (e.g., plumbing, joinery, basic electrical tasks)
- Good understanding of compliance, Health & Safety, and safe working practices
- Confidence using IT systems (MS Office, CAFM or similar)
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- A positive, “can‑do” approach and the ability to work under pressure
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
Desirable qualifications
(Not essential – training can be provided depending on experience)
- City & Guilds 2391 (Electrical Safety)
- Plumbing & Heating NVQ Level 2+
- Joinery NVQ Level 2+
- Legionella Awareness Certificate
Why join us?
- A varied, rewarding role where your work directly contributes to safe, comfortable environments for the people we support
- Supportive team and strong development opportunities
- Autonomy to manage your day and travel between services
- A team culture built on professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement
If you’re a practical, proactive multi‑trade professional looking for a role with purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
