At Pivot we believe children deserve better. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with traumatic backgrounds.
The Pivot Outreach Programme is a growing provision which aims to re-engage learners with social, emotional and mental health needs who may have been out of education for some time. Within POP, learners are provided with both academic and pastoral activities, delivered off site, at pupil’s homes and at times within the POP hub.
Due to our growth, we are currently seeking a support member of staff to join the POP team. As a POP Worker, you will co-ordinate and address the barriers to learning for individual pupils in order to enable them to make progress according to their learning pathways. Working with other support and teaching staff, you will offer personalised individual strategies and support to help with developing independent living skills, academic progress and social, emotional and mental health needs in order to engage with the learning offer.
Your week will involve 8 x 2 hour sessions with our learners where you will deliver 1:1 life skills sessions with EBSA learners and/or support them with accessing learning at external providers.
Experience of working with learners with SEMH needs is essential to the role, as is the ability to drive with access to a car as you will need to travel to meet with your learners in the community and take them to places of learning.
The remainder of your time will be spent with the POP team planning and preparing for your sessions to ensure that all your learners are building the knowledge, skills and confidence to be the best version of themselves.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our learner’s lives and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wishes to make a difference to learners who are not accessing education full-time. We offer a comprehensive training and induction plan. You will be part of a supportive POP team with excellent development opportunities and a pathway for progression.
Don’t miss this opportunity, apply now by completing an application form and returning to the HR team at recruitment@pivot-group.co.uk.
Closing Date: 03 February 2026
Interviews: 12 February 2025
We are committed to safeguarding our young people and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and appropriate referencing.
During the shortlisting process, Pivot will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of its due diligence.
