Join the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) as an Authorised Firearms Officer at Dounreay. Starting salary: £31,164, rising to £32,472 after probation, with potential to reach £50,256 within 7 years.

The CNC is a specialist armed police service dedicated to protecting the civil nuclear industry and other critical national infrastructure. Our officers are highly trained professionals providing 24/7 armed response, patrolling nuclear sites and working with local Home Office forces. We also contribute to national security operations such as Operation Temperer.

After completing training and a 2-year probation, you can apply for specialist roles such as Dog Handler, Special Branch, Firearms Instructor, or Strategic Escort Group Officer.
What We’re Looking For
Applicants must be 18+ with a full manual driving licence.
Commitment to the CNC’s values and Code of Ethics, demonstrating professionalism and integrity.
Benefits

25 days (200 hours) annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service.
Generous pension: 8.2% personal and 20.7% employer contribution (approx. £750.53/month).
