Crynodeb
We’re looking for an organised, approachable Administrative Assistant to support our headquarters team. You’ll work closely with the Senior Administrative Officer and senior staff, helping to keep the charity running smoothly and acting as a key point of contact for staff, volunteers, veterans, and external partners.
This is a varied role that combines administration, coordination, and front-of-house responsibilities, with the opportunity to support fundraising and events.
Key responsibilities
Provide day-to-day administrative and secretarial support to the Senior Administrative Officer and Management team.
Act as the first point of contact for phone, email, and written enquiries
Welcome and support visitors to headquarters
Manage diaries, meetings, travel, and accommodation arrangements
Prepare correspondence, documents, and meeting papers
Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems (including GDPR compliance)
Update and maintain the organisation’s CRM system
Support DBS administration, including ID checks and record management
Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, veterans, prison staff, and external partners
Assist with planning and delivering fundraising events
Represent Care after Combat professionally and in line with our values
Carry out other reasonable duties as required
What we’re looking for
Essential
Right to live and work in the UK
Previous experience in an administrative or office-based role
Confident use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
High standards of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
Desirable
Experience working with veterans, the armed forces, prisons, or a veterans’ charity
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce particularly welcome)
Experience supporting events or fundraising activities
