**Important notice**

In line with our redeployment policy, we’ll prioritise applications from National Trust employees who are under formal notice of redundancy.

As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 600 hours per year over the contract. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the contract. You'll be required to more days in peak season (between March and September) and less in the quieter months (October to February).

You'll be allocated shifts as part of a regular rota, and you’ll need to be available to work some weekend days and Bank Holidays. Your shifts will usually be between 5 and 7 hours, depending on the time of year.

If you have any questions, or would like an informal chat about the role, please contact Lois Foster Ventress, Welcome Manager: lois.ventress@nationaltrust.org.uk

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it's like to work here
Reporting to Lois Foster Ventress, Welcome Manager, you’ll be part of a team of nine working in the outdoors at Tarn Hows and Wray. This role is based outdoors and will suit people who like engaging with visitors. Once fully trained, you'll be required to work at Tarn Hows without another team member on site.

Given the site location, a full UK driving licence is essential for this role as there is no way to get to the site other than by driving the work van.

What you'll be doing
You'll mainly work at Tarn Hows, but you may occasionally support the team during busy periods at Wray.

Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information.

Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion - no two days are the same.

Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.
