What skills and experience we're looking for
Ideal candidates will be resilient, hardworking and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that our provision is ‘Good or better, everyday’
We welcome all prospective candidates to arrange a call with one of our senior leadership team to talk through this career opportunity and organise a tour of the school(s).
What the school offers its staff
At the Lion Academy Trust we live, work and learn through our ‘five ways’ values
Aspiration – Honesty – Respect – Responsibility – Kindness
Would you like to work for a caring and supportive employer with dedicated career development pathways? Do you have relentless focus on improving outcomes & life chances for all pupils irrespective of context or situation?
If so, the Lion Academy Trust is looking for a number of ECT’s to join our Northants Hub, made up of Olympic Primary, Warwick Primary, Ruskin Juniors and Ruskin Infants for September 2025. Since January 2023, ALL FOUR of the Schools have had full Ofsted inspections and have all received extremely positive feedback. We want to recruit staff that engage and inspire both pupils and colleagues.
We are a popular and fully-inclusive Trust that in addition to the four schools based in Northamptonshire, has another seven schools situated across London and Essex. We put the children’s needs at the heart of everything we do and our children’s outcomes for the end of the key stage, and attendance continues to be well above the national and local averages. Our children are extremely well behaved and always aspire to be ‘the best versions of themselves’
We have a fully resourced school and an embedded Trust pedagogy. This includes a developed programme of investment in the IT infrastructure and environment of the school both internal and external.
We are forward-thinking, caring and, most important of all, a happy school where pupils of all abilities and social backgrounds achieve. Our ‘Five Ways’ values are at the heart of everything we do and all decisions we make.
We incorporate our Trust induction programme alongside bespoke career professional development. Programmes range from Early Career Teacher development through to Middle and Senior Leader qualifications. Our partnership with the Institute of Education enhances this CPD offer, with many professional qualifications open to our team. We have a strong track record over recent years of staff joining the school and moving on into leadership roles within the trust.
Please note we offer a July start for potential ECT’s to ensure a strong induction and so that ECT’s can get paid over the summer break.
What do we offer our new teachers?
• 15% PPA time for all teachers to ensure time is given to plan accurately for the children;
• A dynamic leadership team, to offer you the support and guidance that you need;
• Bespoke Trust CPD and external professional development opportunities;
• Experienced teachers to mentor you with commitment, drive and a genuine smile;
• All teachers benefit from teacher development time in addition to PPA to support their personal growth.
• Cutting-edge technology provided by partners Google and Apple;
• All teachers receive a Chromebook that converts to a tablet, to support planning.
• A staff perks membership: providing loyalty rewards and discounts from retailers and a car scheme;
Any employee assistance programme that is free to all employees and their families: A thriving social scene for teachers.
