As a Detainee Services Administrator in our J&I team this role is integral to the effective operation of the department, providing comprehensive administrative support across governance, compliance, audit, and quality assurance functions. You will play a central role in coordinating reports, managing action plans, supporting audits, and ensuring key governance activities are accurately documented and monitored.
What you’ll do as a Detainee Services Administrator
- Provide administrative support to the Governance Team, including minute-taking for key meetings
- Collate and manage complaints, self-audits, and the consolidated action plan
- Monitor audit actions and support ongoing compliance and assurance activities
- Assist with daily performance checks and quality assurance reviews
- Draft, maintain, and support the delivery of monthly business-critical reports
- Act as a central point of support for managers and wider business services, providing effective administrative assistance as required

- Experience of IT, excel and word packages
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines

Vetting and checks:
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
