Summary
The Health Professional Placements team is a specialist team responsible for ensuring students in the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences (HWLS) are allocated to relevant placement experiences for their course of study.
We organise placements for three departments including Allied Health Professions, Nursing and Midwifery and Social Work. Within these departments, we oversee over 25 courses and plan approximately 15,000 placements each academic year.
We undertake this vital function, whilst ensuring that we are compliant with Audits, monitoring and maintaining Placement Evaluations, co-ordinate the reimbursement of placement expenses via the NHS Bursary scheme and many other support services.
This is an exciting and demanding role that is strongly linked to the student experience. You will be responsible for providing excellent placement planning, allocation, and related support, as well as advice to students on placement issues.
You will work closely with academic colleagues, placement providers and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of services to students in relation to placements.
We are looking for resilient, confident, and proactive individuals with relatable experience. You should have the ability to solve problems and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. You should also be able to plan and prioritise your own workload and be able to work to deadlines managing and prioritising your work to meet conflicting demands.
