The Role

As an IT Infrastructure Consultant, you will play a critical role in delivering robust, reliable server and infrastructure solutions that are designed to be stable, well documented, and effortless for customers to operate.

Working within our established implementation frameworks, you will lead the design and delivery of Windows Server, virtualisation, networking, and backup solutions, guiding customers through adoption and integration with minimal disruption to their day-to-day operations.

This is a hands-on, delivery focused role where technical quality, structured delivery, and customer experience are equally important.

What You’ll Work On

Solution Design & Delivery

Design and deliver server and infrastructure solutions aligned to defined technical baselines and best practices.
Lead deployments of Microsoft Windows Server and core infrastructure platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, and supportable.
Deliver multiple infrastructure project baselines (typically 10–25 days in duration).
Ensure all implementations are thoroughly documented and meet quality standards.
Make technical decisions that prioritise stability, simplicity, and long term maintainability.
Client Engagement & Effortless Enablement

Work closely with customers to understand business and operational requirements.
Translate technical requirements into clear, practical infrastructure designs.
Proactively reduce complexity and risk during delivery through clear planning and communication.
Provide training, guidance, and reassurance to customer IT teams, enabling confident day-to-day operation.
Communicate complex infrastructure concepts in a clear, accessible way to non-technical stakeholders.
Deliver a calm, professional, and dependable experience throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Transition & Quality Assurance

Lead smooth handovers from project delivery into Service Delivery, ensuring support teams are fully enabled.
Complete post-implementation reviews to validate outcomes and identify improvements.
Ensure infrastructure solutions meet agreed performance, security, and quality benchmarks.
Maintain Quality Score and Customer Feedback Score consistently above 90%.
Strategic Contribution & Continuous Improvement

Provide feedback from live delivery to help evolve infrastructure standards, baselines, and solution offerings.
Identify opportunities to simplify infrastructure designs and improve customer outcomes.
Contribute to the development of implementation methodologies aligned to emerging technologies and client needs.
Mentor junior consultants and support consistent delivery standards across the Professional Services team.
Drive internal efficiency and process improvements that benefit both customers and delivery teams.

Main Tasks

Deliver multiple concurrent infrastructure projects to time, quality, and customer experience standards.
Collaborate with IT Project Managers to plan resources and track delivery progress.
Provide regular, clear updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
Push back constructively on unachievable deliverables, offering realistic and technically sound alternatives.
Suggest innovative infrastructure solutions to enhance account management and service quality.
Create and maintain clear, high quality technical documentation and handover materials.
Present technical updates confidently to both technical and non technical audiences.
Engage with senior stakeholders, including C-suite, during delivery and pre-sales activities.

Support onboarding and mentoring of junior team members.
