I am a young 70-year-old lady and despite my severe physical disabilities, I have a good sense of humour, and I am very easy to get along with. I don’t like my disability to be the focus of my day, and I like to be busy. Helping me pursue my interests and pastimes which include gardening, miniature crafts, cookery, theatre and spectator sports (TV and live) will be a very important part of your role. I am looking for a compassionate person with plenty of common sense who can help my life run smoothly and help me to get the best out of life.
Your role and responsibilities will include:
• Supporting with personal care: dressing, getting in/out of bed, washing, showering, toileting.
• Assisting with health-related tasks: Administering medication and inhalers as prescribed, applying creams and monitoring health conditions such as pressure areas.
• Catheter care.
• Domestic tasks: cooking, cleaning, ironing, laundry, bed-making, personal admin and shopping with or without me.
• Assisting me with getting out and about, including driving me to appointments or social activities, trips out to gardens or garden centres. Mobility assistance includes the use of a ceiling track hoist and a car hoist; training and support will be given in this area.
Up to five days a week – minimum two full days a week. The hours per day are flexible so could be a job share if days could be agreed between two people. Minimum 5 hours up to 8 hours per day. From time to time there will be a requirement to be able to work on a Saturday or a Sunday, but plenty of notice would be given plus good weekend rates of pay.
Driver and reliability essential.

• Basic cooking ability and practicality
• Integrity.
• To be trustworthy and respectful
Some caring experience preferred
Because this role involves intimate personal care, this post is restricted to female applicants under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
