The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and committed Childcare Teacher to join our successful Health & Childcare Department. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that develops learners’ knowledge, skills and confidence, supporting progression into childcare and allied health professions.
With our childcare provision continuing to grow, you will play a key role in planning and delivering engaging, learner-centred lessons across a range of vocational programmes, using a variety of teaching and assessment methods to meet diverse needs.
Working closely with Course Leaders and curriculum teams, you will help review and develop the curriculum to ensure it remains innovative, up to date and aligned with employer and sector requirements. This includes creating effective teaching resources, schemes of work and assessment activities that promote high levels of achievement.
Your role will include assessing learner work and providing clear, constructive feedback, supporting learners during placements and contributing to workplace assessment activity, including undertaking Assessor Awards where required.
In addition to teaching, you will support recruitment, enrolment and school engagement activity, provide academic and pastoral support, and monitor learner progress, attendance and achievement to help students progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
This role is ideal for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about childcare and motivated by helping learners succeed.
About You
You will be a dedicated, learner-focused professional with a genuine passion for childcare education. With experience of teaching or supporting learners within an educational or training environment, you will bring enthusiasm, professionalism and excellent organisational skills to your role.
You will hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Education and be confident in delivering engaging learning experiences that support both academic progress and personal development. Whether you are already a qualified teacher or willing to work towards a Level 6 PGCE, you will be committed to continually developing your teaching practice.
You will have the ability to build positive and supportive relationships with learners, creating an environment where students feel encouraged, challenged and inspired to succeed. Strong communication, effective time management and a proactive approach to improving attendance, retention and achievement are essential.
Experience of developing learning materials, assessing learner outcomes and supporting workplace learning is required. Assessor or verifier experience would be advantageous.

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification)
• Relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Education
• Minimum 1 year’s experience working in an education setting
• Experience of delivering learning to a range of learners
• Strong understanding of the academic and pastoral needs of vocational learners
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

• Assessor and/or Verifier qualifications
• Relevant degree
• Experience developing online learning materials
