About the Service
Are you passionate about caring for others? Are you looking for a new opportunity in the Adult Social Care sector with flexible hours? Then come and join our fantastic team at Hillcrest Futures! Even if you’ve never worked in care before, that’s ok. We offer full induction training and support and will support your continued learning and personal development throughout your career.
Perth Outreach service provides Housing Support and Care at Home services to individuals in the Perthshire area. We provide holistic support covering needs such as learning and physical disabilities, mental health, drug and alcohol recovery, financial hardship, tenancy support and transitional support for young adults into adult services.
You should have a positive empathetic approach and be highly motivated and enthusiastic in your role as Support Worker. You should possess the ability to lone work and work as part of a team with excellent communication skills.
About the Role
The Support Worker may involve:
Your role will take a person-centred approach to maximise service user involvement and help individuals achieve positive outcome in life.
Supporting individuals with their medication
Accessing community-based resources
Daily life skills (menu planning, cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping)
Support to manage finances and money
Maintain personal health and hygiene including personal care
Support with other issues that arise
Emotional support
Promotion of positive mental health including coping strategies
Both drivers and non-drivers are encouraged to apply
About You
You will have:
A positive, flexible attitude, with an encouraging nature
Excellent communication skills including verbal and written
Be highly organised with the ability to work on own initiative
The ability to react efficiently and effectively in emergency situations
Be open to attending and maintaining ongoing training needs
Possess an SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or have the ability to work towards this qualification
Flexibility with shifts patterns including weekend work and occasional evenings.
Obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post
