Join our Product Owner Team at L&Q:
We are looking for a finance-focused Product Owner (PO), this is a role that blends product ownership and financial expertise to guide the development of financial products. They will act as the "voice of the customer" by managing the product backlog, prioritizing features, and ensuring the product aligns with business goals and market needs, while also maintaining a strong understanding of financial services and compliance.
Your impact in the role (Key responsibilities)
· Manage the product backlog: The PO owns and prioritizes the product backlog, to ensure that the development squad works on the most valuable items first. This may involve working with Business Analysts or will involve directly gathering requirements and turning them into user stories, with appropriate Acceptance criteria
· Bridge the gap between business and technical teams: They represent the needs of both customers and the business to the development squad, ensuring the final product is user-friendly, meets identified business needs and is commercially viable / compliant with financial and business regulations.
· Ensure financial compliance and security: The PO ensures that the product adheres to financial regulations and security requirements, which is critical.
· Collaborate with stakeholders: They work closely with various departments, including engineering, finance, transformation and compliance, and manage communication between them.
· Champion the product vision: The PO focuses on the tactical aspects of getting the product built, focusing on delivering value to the customer. The product owner will work with programme and project managers as required.
What you will bring (Essential skills and knowledge)
· Agile methodologies: A strong understanding of Agile and Scrum frameworks is necessary, as the PO is a key role in these development processes.
· Financial acumen: Knowledge of finance, market trends, and the fintech industry is crucial to building successful financial products.
· Customer empathy: The ability to understand and represent the needs of the end-user is a core function of the PO role.
· Analytical skills: The role requires the ability to use data for decision-making and to analyse market insights to inform product strategy.
· Communication: Strong communication skills are essential for managing relationships with diverse stakeholders and clearly defining product requirements.
Product Knowledge: Experience of working with a corporate Finance Management System, ideally Unit 4 is desirable
