Summary

Year 1 Class Teacher
Primary School – Maldon, Essex

Contract: full time, long term until at least Easter
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Class Teacher to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Maldon. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher who is dedicated to providing high-quality learning experiences and nurturing young children at a crucial stage of their development.

About the role:
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering an engaging and creative curriculum that builds strong foundations in phonics, early reading, writing and maths. You will create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued, supported and challenged.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils


  • Has a secure understanding of the Year 1 curriculum, including phonics and early assessment


  • Is caring, patient and enthusiastic about teaching young children


  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and parents


  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
