About the Role:
As a SEND Tutor, you will work closely with teachers and students across various schools in Witham, providing support both academically and through sports-based activities. Your role will be to encourage student engagement, promote physical well-being, and help create a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored one-on-one and group support to students with SEN to promote their social, emotional, and academic development.
• Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and learning strategies.
• Develop and deliver engaging activities that support students’ personal and educational growth.
• Monitor and record students’ progress, behavior, and development, providing regular feedback to staff and parents.
• Foster positive relationships with students to build their self-esteem, resilience, and independence.
• Support students in developing life skills, social skills, and emotional regulation techniques.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or young people (preferred)
- A passion for sports and physical education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to adapt to different school environments and age groups
- Relevant sports coaching qualifications or experience are desirable
