It is a residential Training Centre opened in 1929 to train Salvation Army Officers (Ministers of Religion). It also serves as a Conference Centre and the training centre for Salvation Army staff across the United Kingdom and Ireland.The Catering department serves Breakfast & lunch for staff and students Monday to Friday - but also serves other meals to conference guests both during the week and at weekends.In addition, we regularly host other single day events for large groups, hence the need for flexibility to be rostered across a 7-day period.Key Responsibilities:In the role of Chef De Partie, you will work to prepare, cook and present high quality dishes for our staff & guests. You will…Under the supervision of the Sous Chef, assist with the food preparation process and any other related activities across the college catering function.Ensure that dishes are prepared and served according to the agreed specifications and standards, maintaining portion control and food wastage.Ensure food preparation areas are cleaned and organised at the start of and during the day.Monitor stock usage and inventory, advising the Sous Chef on orders of equipment or ingredients as required.Ensure all HACCP and COSHH standards are adhered to - including when accepting deliveries and transporting foods between onsite locations.Address and resolve guest complaints quickly and effectively ensuring guests receive excellent service and enjoy the catering experience at WBC.Successful candidate will have: Proven successful experience of working in a similar role in a busy professional catering environmentGood communication skillsGood understanding of ingredients and produce to enable production of quality meals from scratch.The ability to show initiative and the confidence to work independentlyThe physical ability to undertake the duties associated with this roleGood understanding of appropriate computer softwareCurrent Level 2 Food Hygiene qualificationThe ability and willingness to work within, be empathic with and promote the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army MissionIn order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.In the job profile you will find the criteria required for the role please make sure that you address this in your supporting statement as this forms the basis of our shortlisting.Appointment subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK and relevant qualifications.For details of how to prove your right to work in the UK please click here and please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship.
