About this opportunity

Join us as an Infrastructure Specialist in the Network Security Team, where you'll play a key role in supporting and maintaining firewall services that protect critical banking infrastructure.

This role focuses on operational excellence-delivering changes, upgrades, resolving incidents and problems, and ensuring compliance with security standards. You'll apply strong technical knowledge of Check Point firewalls, network security principles, and routing to diagnose and resolve complex incidents efficiently. In addition, you'll contribute to regular audits, vulnerability management, and maintain accurate documentation in Confluence.

You'll also manage backlog items in Jira and schedule changes through ServiceNow. Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll be involved in projects delivering new infrastructure, supporting migrations and automation initiatives to improve efficiency.

What you'll do

  • Provide operational support for Check Point firewalls, including incident and problem resolution, change delivery, and technical guidance across Network Services.

  • Contribute to audit, compliance, and vulnerability management activities, ensuring adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain and update documentation in Confluence to support team processes and knowledge sharing.

  • Manage backlog items in Jira and coordinate change scheduling through ServiceNow.

  • Communicate effectively with other business areas to clarify requirements, provide updates, and ensure timely resolution of requests and incidents.

  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and service quality.

  • Support automation initiatives where appropriate, leveraging scripting skills to enhance efficiency.

  • Stay informed about network security trends and share insights with the team.

Why Lloyds Banking Group

We're on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we're shaping finance for good. We're focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone. Including you!

What you'll need

  • You'll be CCSE/CCSA certified or have equivalent hands-on experience working with Check Point firewalls.

  • Strong understanding of network security principles; familiarity with Cisco networking technologies (including Cisco ACI) is a plus.

  • Experience working in large enterprise environments under strict change control processes.

  • Familiarity with Jira, ServiceNow, and Agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences and building strong relationships with other business areas.

  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and contribute to compliance activities.

  • Knowledge of scripting (e.g., Python) and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible) is beneficial but not the primary focus.

It would be great if you also had

  • Knowledge of regulated environments (e.g., Financial Services) is advantageous.
