An exciting training opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual passionate about Dermatology Biologics to join our friendly and supportive team of nurses and Consultants at MFT as a band 6.
The successful candidate will work primarily within Dermatology OPD. They will work along side consultants and ACP's. The successful candidate will be expected to run nurse led biologics clinics to support the service. They also deputise for the nursing manager when required. The successful candidate will provide specialist dermatology advice to support the assessment, planning and implementation of patients care, and where appropriate deliver programmes of care and education to patients with inflammatory skin disease who are being treated with topical, systemic and biologic therapies.
We are looking for a motivated candidate who shares our vision and is willing to support and mentor junior staff and students, and assist the wider team in the development and expansion of our dermatology clinical services.
This is a full time post fixed term for 12 months with a view of it being made a permanent position and the successful candidate would be expected to work Monday to Friday. This role requires the candidate to work at the four sites of WTWA (Withington Community Hospital, Trafford General Hospital, Wythenshawe Hospital and Altrincham Hospital).
You will be working in conjunction with an established team of specialist nurses and the rest of the dermatology team. The emphasis will be very much on supporting the screening and monitoring of patients on topical treatments and disease modifying medication, including systemic and biological therapies, under the guidance of the Consultant Dermatologists.
You will be responsible for prescribing, screening, providing education, advice and follow up to support and empower patients to manage their own conditions effectively, thereby improving quality of life. This includes acting as a resource and support for local GPs, Community Nurses, and Home care Pharmacy teams.
You will be a highly motivated, self-managing nurse, with the drive and enthusiasm to continue to develop the Dermatology Nursing Service, coaching and supporting junior team members and students.
