We are seeking an experienced, influential and forward-thinking Head of Business Analysis to lead, develop and professionalise the Business Analysis capability across the organisation. This is a senior strategic role with enterprise-wide reach, shaping how we deliver technology-enabled change, improve business processes, and support critical national services.
The successful candidate will set the direction for the BA profession, lead a high-performing community, assure major transformation initiatives, and act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders. You will bring deep experience of business analysis excellence from any sector — public or private — and have the credibility to influence executive decision-making.
We welcome applications from candidates who have not previously worked in Government. Experience in large-scale, regulated, complex, or multi-supplier environments is highly valuable
Why This Role Is Unique:
This role aligns with the Government Digital & Data (DDaT) profession, but welcomes cross-sector applicants. The post holder will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and lead the BA community across the organisation. Pay and allowances follow Government G6 policy and relevant DDaT market allowances.
Responsibilities:
- lead business analysis across an organisation delivering essential public services with real social impact
- shape enterprise processes, digital transformation, and technology strategy at scale
- build, professionalise, and uplift a BA community using modern standards and industry best practice
- influence Board-level decisions and drive change across multiple directorates
- operate in a hybrid legacy-to-cloud environment where strong analysis and modelling skills genuinely shape outcomes
- a consistent BA standards and modelling framework embedded across major transformation initiatives
- a clear enterprise-wide view of key business processes, ownership and dependencies
- introduced a robust requirements assurance model trusted by governance forums
- evidenced uplift in BA capability, skills development and community maturity
- strengthened alignment between BA, product, architecture and delivery teams
