St John Rigby College offers a wide range of academic and vocational courses at all levels in a highly supportive and caring environment to approximately 1500 full-time students aged 16-18. Progress Tutor

Start Date: As soon as possible

Hours per week Full time, 36.25 hours per week

Working pattern 08.30 16.30, Monday to Friday


Permanent: Term Time Only, plus one week. This equates to 39 weeks in the year, 38 of which are worked in conjunction with the academic year. The remaining 5 days will be worked at an agreed time.

Salary/Grade: SP 11 to 15 of the Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Pay Spine (currently £28,634£32,199 pro rata, per annum. Actual salary £24,532 - £27,586 per annum).

As a Progress Tutor, you will support and monitor students, working with them individually and in groups, to deliver a tutorial programme to help students focus on their learning and study skills, enabling them to make academic progress to achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for the progress, performance and wellbeing of a caseload of students, taking measures to assist them in exceeding their target grades. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with young people and have the ability to liaise with parents and carers to establish positive relationships with students. You will track and monitor student attendance, achievement and retention, as well as managing safeguarding concerns successfully.
