A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Manchester is seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This role is available immediately for the right candidate and will run until the end of the academic year (July 2026), making it an excellent opportunity for graduates seeking meaningful, school-based experience.

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will :
• Provide small-group / 1to1 support to pupils with additional needs
• Supporting children with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement in learning
• Assisting with the delivery of tailored interventions and adapted learning activities
• Promoting positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in the classroom
• Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning in a nurturing primary setting
This role offers invaluable exposure to SEN provision at primary level and is ideal preparation for teacher training, Educational Psychology, or other child-focused careers.
Graduate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant | About You
• Hold a 2:1 degree or above (Psychology or related subjects desirable)
• Be patient, empathetic and resilient
• Have a genuine interest in supporting children with ASD and SEMH
• Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, and parents
• Experience with children, SEN, care, or youth work is desired but not essential
