Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
TeacherActive are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to work with pupils requiring SEMH support in a lovely school in Basildon. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives and help them reach their full potential.
About the role:
• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to access learning and develop positive behaviour strategies
• Building trusting relationships to foster confidence and independence
• Assisting with social and emotional development through tailored activities
• Working closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals
• Providing a safe and supportive environment for pupils to thrive
The ideal candidate:
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is preferred
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to individual needs and remain positive under pressure
• Flexible, reliable, and committed to making a difference
Requirements:
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
• Relevant qualifications or experience in supporting children (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Youth Work) is advantageous
