Summary

Female Personal Assistant (PA)/Support Worker
Job ref. PUR-877-955
About me: I live in the community in my own home, with no access to the outside due to my health conditions. My main diagnosis is Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (diagnosed in 2008) which means I suffer from excruciating pain daily. This means I am largely bedbound and I am unable to carry out daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, organising my home etc. With the right support in place, I wish to improve my health as much as possible, to the point of being able to spend time outside my home as I love the outdoors. Whilst I am bedbound I spend my time, watching true crime documentaries, YouTube videos and have interest in the Health and Beauty industry as this is what I did before my diagnosis.

£15 per hour – double rate on bank holidays
2x staff members and a bank.

The two PA's with the permanent position would be sharing the hours equally.. on a 'rolling rota' of 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts another week- alternating between the 2 staff members.
7-hour shifts starting at 1 pm till 08:30pm (30 min unpaid lunch break)
We are happy to discuss other shift pattern options with the applicant also.

Location Thorne, Doncaster (DN8)
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.

What you would be doing… You will be supporting me with daily living including personal care, light household chores, cooking, shopping and accessing the community and support with socialising.

I am looking for a female PA, 30+, who is organised, kind and compassionate. A PA who knows how to run a household alongside me as I am unable to do this for myself. Someone who is confident, and who enjoys spending time with the people they support

Someone who is able to physically carry out job tasks, someone who is able to work along side another PA.

Someone in the local Doncaster area, (in case of emergencies) and ideally an individual who is 60+ purely for the life experience aspect.

A knowledge of CRPS would be great, but not essential

You must have previous experience with adults who have a physical health disability.

Car owner/driver – essential

As some personal care is involved, I would feel more comfortable with a female carer. This advert complies with the Sex Discrimination Act (1975) Section 7 (2b).

Please send a CV (with 2 references) and a covering letter explaining why you would suit this role. Thank you.
