An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator to join the successful, multi-agency Northamptonshire Youth Justice, aiming to reduce reoffending by working with young people, their families and victims.

This is a full-time maternity cover for up to 12 months starting in March 2026.

Based at our Northampton and Wellingborough offices you will be supporting a countywide admin service.

What will you be doing?

You will be the first point of contact for young people, their families, practitioners and professional staff and ideally you will have previous experience of working in a customer led environment and be able to communicate confidently and effectively whilst always maintaining confidentiality.

You will take on a variety of tasks, including notetaking, managing diaries, responding to queries and processing invoices.

Hours are full time (37) - (Northampton Office) Monday - Thursday 9.00 am – 5.30 pm & Friday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm. (Wellingborough Office) Wednesday 9.00 am – 5.30 pm. There are some opportunities to work from home on a rota, once induction / training is complete.

We are looking for someone who can be flexible to meet the needs of the service.

About you
  • You will be self-motivated,organisedand deliver a professional support to Practitioners and the Management Team. Accuracy, attention to detail and use of initiative isrequiredwhen raising and processing invoices, minuting meetings,correspondenceand diary management.
  • You must have a confident working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel, Outlook,PowerPointand Internet), experience of using computerised systems although training will be given.
  • You prioritise workloads, whilst achieving deadlines, in a highly performing and changing environment.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and data protection is imperative.
  • You demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and make a positive contribution to our team.

A short typing assessment will form part of the interview; details will be forwarded prior to the interviews.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Barred List check
