Crynodeb
As the Fire Safety Manager, reporting into the Chief Fire Officer you will ensure compliance with fire safety legislation, emergency preparedness, resilience, and response across the airport in relation to fire safety and fire strategies.
Your primary responsibility will be to manage, coordinate, and implement robust fire prevention measures, including fire safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and emergency planning and coordination of fire strategies. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders, including the Bristol Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service (RFFS) Fire Safety Team, operational teams, development, and third-party providers, to ensure best practices in fire safety management. You will also manage the implementation of a Fire Safety Management System in accordance with relevant legal regulations.
This role would suit a candidate with qualifications in fire safety/fire safety engineering and in using safety management systems with a solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
More about the role and required skills and experience
We're looking for someone with demonstrable experience in fire safety and engineering within a complex environment and in the use of safety management systems.
You'll be qualified to at least level 4 diploma in fire safety with a sound understanding of auditing techniques and procedures.
You'll be an excellent communicator, confident working with multiple stakeholders and collaborating with colleagues. And you'll use your resilience and attention to detail to make and embed change.
Whilst not essential, it would be great if you also have experience of emergency planning and crisis management and knowledge and understanding of Airport Security regulations and contract law.
