Neway International are seeking Community Wellbeing Social Workers (Adult Social Care) to join our client, Herefordshire Council.
Location: Hereford City, Ross-on-Wye, or Leominster (candidate preference considered)
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £36,363 – £40,777 + £3,000 welcome payment

The Role
As a Community Wellbeing Social Worker, you will deliver a varied and rewarding caseload across adult social care. You will complete Care Act Assessments, develop person‑centred support plans, undertake Mental Capacity Assessments, and lead on Section 42 safeguarding enquiries. You will work with adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and older adults, using a strengths‑based approach to promote independence and wellbeing.

This role offers opportunities to develop specialist skills, including Practice Education, Best Interest Assessor (BIA) training, and Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) pathways.

Key Responsibilities
Completing Care Act Assessments and developing personalised support plans.

Undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments and Section 42 safeguarding enquiries.

Working with adults across a range of needs, including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health, and older adults.

Applying a strengths‑based approach to empower individuals and promote independence.

Contributing to CHC and s117 work.

Collaborating with partner agencies to ensure holistic, coordinated support.

Maintaining accurate records and adhering to statutory guidance.

Participating in regular supervision and ongoing professional development.

Candidate Requirements
Registered Social Worker with Social Work England.

Recognised Social Work qualification.

Strong understanding of current legislation and statutory responsibilities.

Experience delivering person‑centred assessments and care management.

Willingness to develop into BIA or AMHP roles.

Full, clean driving licence.
