We are recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support workers for our Day Stay Unit (DSU, B448) and our Theatre Admission and Day Stay Unit TADSU, A301).

DSU is a separate unit in the south wing at Broomfield Hospital and has three integral Theatres. DSU undertakes a surgical pathway for patients undergoing elective procedures who are admitted and discharged on the same day. This includes an emergency ambulatory pathway for urgent operations.

TADSU is located within the Main Theatre Complex at Broomfield Hospital and undertakes a surgical Pathway for patients undergoing elective procedures who are admitted and discharged in the same day, as well as an inpatient pathway for patients requiring admission post surgery.

We provide safe and effective care to our patients across the specialities which include Urology, upper and Lower GI, Vascular, Breast, General, Plastics, Ophthalmology and Pain Clinic.

These posts will involve working with the surgical patient through the pre-operative, peri-operative and post-operative periods.

Candidates should demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, while maintaining a professional and friendly character.

The successful candidates will be allocated to either DSU or TADSU and will be expected to complete the Band 3 ward based competencies.

Candidates must show a willingness to work across the sites as required and demonstrate a flexibility to work the shift patterns.

You will be working with qualified staff to provide individualised care to our patients. Ensuring effective communication is maintained within the team and ensuring documentation is handled with confidentiality.
