Step into a fast‑paced clinical environment where you’ll play a vital hands‑on role in supporting safe, high‑quality patient care. You will work closely with Registered Nurses to assist in the assessment and triage of trauma patients, performing clinical baseline observations and escalating any concerns promptly. As one of the first points of contact, you’ll help orientate patients and their families, ensuring they feel supported and informed from the moment they arrive.

You will follow individual care plans with accuracy and professionalism, reporting any changes in a patient’s condition to the nursing team and helping to ensure a seamless flow of information. Your contribution to service improvement is valued, and you’ll be encouraged to share ideas that enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.

Documentation and communication are key parts of the role, and you’ll record all episodes of care in line with Trust guidelines. You will also play an active part in essential administrative duties, including requesting, filing and tracking patient notes to keep the department running smoothly. With the appropriate competencies, you’ll carry out specific investigations and treatments, helping to deliver safe, effective care at every step.

The Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS) brings together key health, care, community, and voluntary sector organisations from across our area. Our aim is to work together in partnership to join up health and care services, improving our populations health and wellbeing and reducing health inequalities. One such example of this collaborative work is the launch of our HCA Academy, an ICS initiative between Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) and Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) to support the incoming Health Care assistant (HCA) workforce. The academy models a ‘one workforce’ cross system approach to the onboarding, induction, education, and experience of Healthcare Assistants.

Successful candidates to this role will be able to access the additional support provided by the HCA Academy following their induction with MSEFT. This includes development opportunities, pastoral support, staff rewards and access to HCA exclusive resources such as HCA App.

Are you looking for an exciting new role using your unique qualities, then we want to hear from you.
