Position: SEN teacher QTS

Location: Meldreth, near Royston

Contract Type: Full-Time Permanent position

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Qualification: SEN experience, QTS

Randstad Education is seeking experienced and dedicated SEN Teachers for opportunities within schools in Stanstead Abbotts. In this role, you will be responsible for cultivating a nurturing, secure, and stimulating environment where children with special educational needs can truly thrive.

This is a permanent position and you will be required to support five days a week Monday - Friday inline with school hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse learning needs of SEN students
  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for pupils, setting clear targets and monitoring progress
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to support students' learning and development
  • Assess pupils' abilities and progress regularly, adapting teaching methods as necessary
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies (e.g., therapists, psychologists) to provide holistic support
  • Manage classroom behaviour and promote positive social and emotional development
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on pupil progress for parents and senior management
  • Participate in professional development to stay updated on SEN best practices and legislation

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Be an inspiring and engaging communicator
  • Use imagination and innovation to enhance learning experience

Personal Attributes:

  • Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with the students.
  • Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
  • Have experience with SEN or knowledge learning difficulties.
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent

All candidates will be subject to Randstad Education's child protection and UK eligibility vetting including a DBS check and providing satisfactory references. A DBS on the update service would be a distinct advantage due to the urgent nature of some of these roles.
