An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced therapeutic radiographer to join the Radiotherapy department at the Royal Free Hospital as a Treatment Superintendent. We are looking for a candidate withproven team leadership and communication skills who will be responsible for the operational management of the treatment area ensuring optimum use of staffing and equipment resources to ensure delivery of a high level of service and patient care whilst complying with national standards.

Successful applicants will have significant clinical treatment experience, be highly motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to developing themselves and helping develop our service. Successful candidates will be role models for demonstrating our Trust’s values through their leadership behaviours, working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams and be committed to providing high quality patient care.



To provide with the other Superintendents, leadership, direction and support for
staff that may enable them to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience
so that they attain their potential.
 To take responsibility with the other Superintendents for the organisation and
prioritisation of the workload.
 To ensure the timely submission of data as per the Radiotherapy data set and
Cancer data.
 To guide and instruct the team in the policies and procedures used in Oncology
services and supervise staff to ensure these are followed consistently
maintaining high departmental standards at all times.
 To provide clinical leadership and supervise treatment delivery procedures,
ensuring that standards are maintained and that staff are kept up to date with
technological developments.
 To take overall responsibility for maintaining good communication and co-ordination between the treatment team and pre-treatment team, clinicians,
physicists, radiotherapy review specialists and administrative staff.
 To take overall responsibility for the operation and care of the treatment
section, which includes all treatment units, checking room, patient waiting,
reception area, and staff areas.
 To ensure that a reasonable standard of cleanliness is maintained in the
treatment area of the department.
