Your new role
As Portfolio Operations Manager, you will lead the team responsible for the ongoing servicing, performance and management of the loan book. You will ensure effective covenant monitoring, reporting, arrears management, collections activity and restructuring support, while maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance and customer care. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and support wider strategic and transformation initiatives across Operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the portfolio operations team, ensuring accurate and timely servicing of loans throughout their lifecycle.
- Overseeing covenant monitoring, compliance checks and reporting requirements.
- Supporting loan restructures, extensions, variations and redemptions in line with risk appetite and commercial objectives.
- Managing arrears, collections and enforcement activity for non‑performing loans, ensuring early intervention and effective resolution strategies.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders including Risk, Compliance and Legal to ensure servicing activities meet regulatory expectations.
- Ensuring accurate record‑keeping and workflow management using internal systems, including nCino.
- Monitoring team performance against SLAs and KPIs, driving a high‑performance culture.
- Contributing to process improvement, automation and operational scalability initiatives.
- Coaching, developing and supporting team members to build capability and ownership.
- Providing operational support into strategic and transformation projects.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 8 years' experience in lending operations, ideally within bridging finance.
- Strong understanding of portfolio management, arrears, collections and covenant monitoring.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing high‑performing teams.
- Experience in restructures, debt handling and enforcement is essential.
- Ability to work confidently with internal systems to manage workflows and maintain accurate records.
- Familiarity with nCino is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
