Here at Sheffield Hallam University we are inviting applications for an exciting opportunity to join our small but busy team. The Compliance and Operations team is a central point for the apprenticeship programmes, working closely with internal and external colleagues to ensure compliance and maintain operational oversight within University regulations & policies and DFE Apprenticeship Funding Rules.

As Senior Administrator, you will undertake a range of administrative processes in a fast-paced environment, You will work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders both externally and internally including Professional Services, Academic Colleges and Employers. In this role, the successful candidate will provide support and deliver a high-quality service across the apprenticeship lifecycle. Ensuring adherence to both Apprenticeship and University regulations and policies.

We are looking for candidates with experience of working in a dynamic environment, with the ability to manage their own workload. Effective communication, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are key to the role.

You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.

Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/49th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 22% of your salary). For a starting salary of £25,000, for example, the University would pay just over £5,400 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £510 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
If you are currently a member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), you can choose to opt out of the LGPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
